What’s the real problem here?

Democrat, Republican, Independent?

I grew up with a Democrat mother and a Republican father…and no, they didn’t hate each other. Can you even imagine? Perhaps if you are old enough, but recently, probably not. What changed?

Ulterior Motives. Political party difference, was not a difference of ulterior motives, it was a difference of how the common motives—common American motives—would be managed. The ebb and flow and political swing did flare up occasionally—and yes, we even had a civil war. But American motives were not ulterior, not beyond what otherwise united us. Oh, there has always been a mix of opinions, viewpoints, and interests. But it was contained within the idea that America was united at its foundation.

Recently however, motives have suffered from outside influences. That’s putting it nicely. In reality, enemy interests have been adopted and invited within the fold. And they make it sound so good! Many are the victims of smooth-talking, candy-offering, smiling adversaries. They live among us. Just look at the spam and phishing tactics—some even fraudulently coming under the names and identities of what is good—lying through their teeth, “only to steal and kill and destroy” (John 10:10). If you don’t think so, you’re kidding yourself.

It is important then…to question EVERYTHING. Especially question what sounds good! Ask: What’s the motive, what “ulterior” agenda may be at work. Isn’t that what we do with come-on emails, etc.? We gotta do it!

Meanwhile, most are not trying to steal, cheat, and ruin our happiness, our families, and our good country. Remember the good, and don’t be suckered into the negative. That’s no way to live—and yet that is what many are selling. Don’t buy it!

And remember, only those who stand up for what is good and right, will triumph in the end. What shall be written of you? Live it!
